Colin’s contributions to this Gold-certified album include the production and mix for “Same (As I Ever Was)” and the remix for the single “Get Up.” > The project was recorded during an intensive period in 2001, where Colin balanced the London-based sessions with the start of The Beta Band’s Hot Shots II. Having established the foundation for the tracks “Shape of You” and “Gold,” the scheduling requirements of the two concurrent projects meant Colin handed over those specific productions for completion to ensure both albums met their respective deadlines; however, he is credited with initial production on both tracks.

Who I Am was a major critical success, peaking at Number 7 in the UK Official Albums Chart and receiving a Mercury Prize nomination. The album’s impact further solidified Beverley Knight’s status as the “Queen of UK Soul” and earned her the MOBO Award for Best Album in 2002.
