COLIN EMMANUEL MA
Colin Emmanuel, MA is a London-based producer, composer, and sound designer dedicated to the art of sonic storytelling. From shaping multi-platinum hits to composing for award-winning immersive films, his work bridges the gap between chart-topping energy and cinematic depth. Every project—from the club to the gallery—is driven by a single goal: creating authentic, immersive experiences that resonate.

Whether shaping multi-platinum pop anthems, scoring award-winning documentaries, or deconstructing the DNA of cinematic legends, Colin’s work is driven by a single philosophy: Sonic Architecture. It is an analytical, high-concept approach to sound that bridges the gap between the chart-topping energy of the studio and the immersive depth of the gallery.
Colin’s practice is built on three active pillars:
[ 01. STUDIO PRODUCTION & ARTIST COLLABORATION ]
Colin remains a sought-after producer and remixer for labels and independent artists, known for bringing “cinematic weight” to modern records.
Commercial Success: The creative force behind Jamelia’s “Money” and a pivotal producer on the album Thank You (3 million+ copies sold worldwide).
The Cult Classic: Co-producer of The Beta Band’s Hot Shots II—named one of the “1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die.”
The Collaborations: An active portfolio of production for icons including Mary J. Blige, KRS-One, and De La Soul, alongside independent soul pioneer Eric Roberson.
[ 02. SCORE & SOUND DESIGN ]
Applying the “Sonic Architecture” methodology to the screen, Colin collaborates with visionary directors to create sound that constructs an environment.
Documentary & Commercial: Long-term collaborator with director Ken Kamara; their documentary Urbano won Best Documentary (2021), and their work for Cetaphil won the German Brand Award (2022).
Extended Reality (XR) & Installation: Leading the field in immersive audio, providing the score for Karen Palmer’s Consensus Gentium (SXSW XR Experience Award winner, 2023) and both the score and sound design for Ascended Intelligence (SXSW 2026).
[ 03. CONCEPTUAL ARTIST PROJECTS ]
Colin maintains a space for pure sonic exploration—the R&D center for his entire practice.
J.Willi & reSco: Experimental studies in rhythmic friction, shifting sonic environments, and cinematic deconstruction.
Black Einstein / Emmanuel: Critically acclaimed explorations of alternative soul and space-age narratives (including a 4-star review from The Guardian).
