In this award-winning documentary, the sound design served as a vital narrative engine. Facing the challenge of a limited production budget where the primary audio was marred by environmental noise, Colin painstakingly restored the soundtrack. By editing out intrusive audio and utilizing B-roll textures to reconstruct soundscapes and repair damaged dialogue, he achieved a visceral sense of place that contributed to the film’s win for Best Documentary at the Speak Truth to Power (STTP) awards.
