WHATEVER HAPPENED TO MAJOR TOM

Bowie Re-scored through the Black Einstein Lens
Whatever Happened to Major Tom front_web

Born from the live energy of the D’illusions era, this project is a high-concept tribute to David Bowie. Rather than a standard cover album, Black Einstein “flipped” the Thin White Duke’s DNA—re-interpreting iconic breaks from Breaking Glass and The Secret Life of Arabia into a genre-blurring mix of Hip Hop, Soul, and Drum & Bass.

Featuring the soulful power of Miss Baby Sol and Xavier Barnet, alongside the lyrical weight of Mysdiggi and Maseo (De La Soul), the EP captures the spirit of Bowie without ever sounding like a imitation. It is a “cult classic” search for Major Tom in the modern sonic landscape.
